The Welding Department of Draftco, Inc. has capabilities seldom found in welding shops. With 12,000 square feet of floor space and state-of-the-art welding equipment, we can handle jobs from tedious to tremendous.
Our welders and welding procedures are qualified in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248, and we are certified to weld mostly all types of steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, copper alloys, inconel and aluminum, as well as most possible combinations of dissimilar metals. The competent welding staff specializes in GTAW(Tig) and GMAW(Mig) welding processes and are tested and certified in Welders Workmanship and Visual Inspection Requirements of NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AR-GIB-010/278. Draftco, Inc.s’ manufacturing procedures governing control of material and consumables are compliant with the requirements of MIL-I-45208A.
Along with our welding department, Draftco, Inc. has on staff NDT inspectors certified in accordance with American Society for Non-destructive Testing reccommended practices NST-TC-1A and Draftco, Inc. Personnel Qualification Procedure PQP-1, which complies with NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-AS-GIB-010/271. We are certified in the disciplines of Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant and Visual Inspection. Our procedures are written in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publication 271 and ASTM specifications.
Our highly skilled Machinists hold close tolerances and make difficult setups daily with the knowledge of completing jobs to specific procedures while also fulfilling orders to meet strict deadlines. Their ability to read very complicated prints and to program their own machines, which includes knowledge of Bobcad, Feature Cam, Master Cam and mill rite on machine programming, are major attributes in the field of their expertise. They are required to inspect their own work and often consult their Leadman or Quality Control Department to double check hard to hold dimensions.
